Angry crowd force nightclub closure
Angry crowd force nightclub closure

The Paramount Nightclub in Northbridge was shut down overnight after a confrontation between revellers and police.

It is understood an unruly male patron at the James Street venue ignored police requests before more officers were called.

A police spokeswoman said other patrons became involved and a decision was made to close the nightclub at about 1.30am due to the volatility of the crowd.

At lease one man was arrested.

He has been charged by summons with disorderly conduct and obstructing police.

The nightclub was contacted for comment.
