A 39-year-old man has been charged with reckless driving and failing to report an accident over a crash on a Carlisle oval.

Police allege the Beckenham man was doing burnouts in a Toyota LandCruiser on Parnham Park in Mars Street between 1am and 2.30am on Friday.

The driver allegedly lost control of the four-wheel-drive, which flipped and landed on its roof with doors open and contents strewn nearby.

It is alleged the man fled the area.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on September 25.
