Game of Thrones fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration over news one of the show's biggest stars will no longer be heading to Perth this weekend.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays "Kingslayer" Jaime Lannister in the hit fantasy series, was recently added to the line-up of stars heading to the Sydney and Perth legs of Supanova Pop Culture Expo.

However, organisers announced at the weekend the actor was forced to pull out of the remainder of the Sydney event due to a filming

clash with his latest flick Gods of Egypt, in production in NSW, and also would not be heading to WA.

"We're sorry to have to share this disappointing news but feel blessed that Nikolaj was able to share the time he did with us, which wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't been filming in Sydney to begin with," said the statement, posted to Facebook.

Fans took to social media shortly after to express their anger.

And some pointed out a larger issue of comic- convention guests cancelling Perth appearances. "No one seems to want to visit Perth," one fan wrote.

Supanova Pop Culture Expo is on at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday.
