Game on for right to drive V8 supercar

It is every young revhead's dream to go on a global drivers' boot camp and earn a shot behind the wheel of a V8 supercar.

Hundreds of aspiring racers put their reflexes to the test over the weekend at Barbagallo Raceway on a video game simulator in pursuit of that very prize.

Nissan Motorsport said there were two promising WA entrants whose times had them in the hunt for a reality TV show that will find the motor company's next fully fledged race driver.

Members of the public aged 18 and over attending the weekend's V8 Supercars round were invited to record their best lap on Gran Turismo 6 at the trackside virtual racing centre.

The 12 fastest times will go to the national final where the field will be narrowed to half a dozen to represent Australia at the GT Academy boot camp at Britain's Silverstone circuit. The winner gets to drive with Nissan Nismo.
