A woman and four children were lucky to escape serious injury after their car hit a tree and rolled in Mirrabooka last night.

The woman was driving on Wintersweet Ramble in Mirrabooka when her car left the road about 1.10am.

The vehicle mounted a kerb, hit a tree, and rolled.

Despite the violent impact, only one child received minor injuries.

St John Ambulance paramedics transferred all five occupants to Joondalup Health Campus as a precaution.

Police issued the driver with an infringement for careless driving.
