Charge over New Year's Eve robbery

A 22-year-old Kelmscott man has been charged over a New Year's Eve robbery at a High Wycombe deli.

Police allege the man walked into a Newburn Road business with another man at 3pm and threatened staff with a hammer.

It is also alleged he assaulted two employees before stealing cash and cigarettes and fleeing in a car.

The man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and is due to appear in Midland Magistrate's Court today.

As part of the police investigation into the incident, a 25-year-old Kelmscott man has been charged with drug offences.

Inquiries are continuing.

He was today (Fri) still being quizzed by detectives over the shooting of Marcus Smith, 19, during the second break-in at his property in less than 10 hours.
