Charge over New Year's Eve robbery

A 22-year-old Kelmscott man has been charged over a New Year's Eve robbery at a High Wycombe deli.

Police allege the man walked into a Newburn Road business with another man at 3pm and threatened staff with a hammer.

It is also alleged he assaulted two employees before stealing cash and cigarettes and fleeing in a car.

The man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and is due to appear in Midland Magistrate's Court today.

As part of the police investigation into the incident, a 25-year-old Kelmscott man has been charged with drug offences.

Inquiries are continuing.
