Deaf singer's incredible performance moves audience to tears

29-year-old Mandy Harvey has been singing since she was a child, but when she was eighteen, she developed a connective tissue disorder that caused her nerves to deteriorate, leading to hearing loss.

She had to relearn how to play music and sing -- using a combination of muscle memory and visual aids, and even performs barefoot so she can feel the vibrations in the ground to help her follow the melody.

She recently auditioned on America's Got Talent with an original song called 'Try', which describes her experience adjusting to her condition -- and it was incredibly powerful and moving.

In fact, it was so impressive, judge Simon Cowell pressed the Golden Buzzer to automatically advance her to the live finals.

"I've done this a long time," Cowell said. "That was one of the most amazing things I'ver ever seen or heard."
