Teenage boy's body found on the side of secluded road

A teenage boy’s body has been found on the side of the road near Wagga Wagga in the New South Wales Riverina region.

Emergency services were called to River Road at Wantabadgery about 1.30am Wednesday after a passing motorist noticed a body on the road.

“The driver stopped to render assistance and discovered it was the body of a teenage boy,” NSW Police said in a statement.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries are now underway to confirm the identity of the boy.
