Teen girl fights off men trying to kidnap her as they force her into car


The terrifying moment a 16-year-old girl fights off a group of men trying to kidnap her in the street has been caught on CCTV security cameras.

The teenager, whose name has not been released, appears to be leaning against a ute when a red car pulls up alongside her in the city of Monterrey, in the north-eastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

The men jump out, grab the girl and try to force her to get into the back of their car.

But the girl bravely fights back and screams until relatives come outside to investigate.

One of the would-be kidnappers armed with a gun is seen threatening a man as they continue trying to force the girl into the car.

But the girl manages to get away from the men as another woman, believed to be a relative, approaches the group.

The teenager hides behind the older woman to try to stay away from her attackers who continue to try to grab her.

But as neighbours come out onto the street to help the girl, the kidnappers jump back inside their car and drive off.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident which happened in the Tierra y Libertad area of the city.

Relatives of the girl shared the CCTV footage on social media in the hope of identifying the gang.
