Teen girl and boss found dead after mysterious disappearance

The pair were travelling home from a work event when they suddenly vanished.

The bodies of a 19-year-old girl and her boss have been found buried just days after mysteriously disappearing while returning home from work last week, with police saying the woman showed "signs of a violent death".

Tatyana Mostyko and her boss Kirill Chubko suddenly vanished from their village in Russia while returning from a work event, prompting an extensive search by police as well as friends and family.

On the night of their disappearance, Kirill, who reportedly owned an event agency, was in the car with Tatyana when a tyre blew, forcing them to stop by the road near a farm. His wife Daria Chubko, told local media that he'd warned her not to wait for him and to go to bed, but he never arrived home — then a series of strange events unfolded.

"He said that some men approached them on the track and offered to help them change the wheel. They were waiting for the rain to stop and start work," she explained.

By morning, Kirill had withdrawn almost $3,900 (RUB 200,000) from his bank account, and Tatyana began answering the calls instead of him. Ms Chubko said she kept pressing them for an explanation. The 19-year-old reportedly told her: "I can't tell you, Kirill will call, he will explain everything to you."

After that, the call was interrupted, and Ms Chubko never heard from them again. She immediately alerted authorities.

Hundreds of volunteers helped her search for the missing duo who were discovered a few days later when police found the car they were riding in abandoned near a forest and completely burned.

Further searching confirmed police's suspicions when Tatyana body was also found buried near a wooded area near the village of Berezanskaya, in southern Russia's Krasnodar Krai.

Investigators reportedly detained three suspects, who allegedly confessed to the brutal murder. The Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory said in a statement obtained by Newsflash that the victims were robbed before being murdered.

"The suspects, who saw a man and a girl standing alone on the highway at night in a foreign-made car, had an intent to kill them in order to seize their money and other valuables," the statement read. "They attacked the victims and took possession of cash and bank cards, gaining access to the possibility of conducting banking operations on them."

Police said the defendants in several ATMs withdrew more than $3,510 (RUB 180,000) from the bank accounts of the victims.

"Having stolen the money, the attackers committed the murder of a man and a girl. In order to destroy the traces of the crimes, the suspects hid the bodies of the victims and burned the car," police said.
