Teacher suspended after setting students 'sick' quiz
A teacher has been suspended after giving his students a morality test branded “sick” by parents.
The employee made pupils at Hillary Bradley School in Ohio, US, take the online quiz as part of their syllabus, however the school district has since admitted it “should never have taken place,” US television station WSYX reported.
Students were asked to rate a range of inappropriate scenarios on a seven-point scale between OK and Not OK. Altogether pupils were made to answer 36 questions.
“Using both a condom and the pill, a brother and a sister decide they want to sleep with each other – just once, to see what it would be like,” one of the scenarios read.
Other questions asked whether it was appropriate to stone cats to death if homes couldn’t be found for them and whether its was acceptable for women to be promiscuous.
“A man orders a custom-built sex doll designed to look just like his niece,” another said.
Concerns over the questions quickly arose, with parents discovering the nature of the quiz and expressing their outrage.
“That’s just sick! Sick!” one parent said after hearing the questions.
In a statement on Friday the district called the activity an “isolated incident”.
“We absolutely share the outrage of our parents and community,” the statement read, confirming the teacher had been suspended.
An internal investigation is being conducted by the district.
It’s not the first time a teacher has been branded as inappropriate, after a high school employee in June handed a questionable award to a young boy which reportedly left him in tears.
