Tammy Hembrow claps back after being criticised for flying while pregnant
Tammy Hembrow has responded to fans after she was called out for flying overseas while 32 weeks pregnant.
The Australian influencer and soon-to-be mum-of-three shared photos on Instagram earlier this week revealing that she and her family were flying to the Maldives for a ‘babymoon’.
“Our first overseas trip since Covid. Feels so strange to travel again,” she captioned a photo of herself hugging her daughter Saskia on the plane.
While plenty of followers were excited about her vacation, others questioned her decision to travel on a plane so far into her pregnancy.
“How can you fly in your third trimester?” one person commented, while another added, “You aren’t supposed to fly that pregnant”.

“Wow you’re game to fly that pregnant,” a third wrote. “There was no way I would risk having a baby overseas or on a plane.”
“I don't think you should go to a place that far because of pregnancy,” someone else remarked.
“She could develop a blood clot, go into labour mid-flight, have labour complications and not have proper medical treatment, etc. There are tons of reasons not to fly in your third trimester,” a different user shared.
However, Tammy quickly took to the comments to defend her decision to fly and shut down speculation that she was doing something wrong.
“I’m only 32 weeks haha not about to have this baby on a plane,” she replied to one person.
“My midwife said it’s perfectly fine,” she added in another comment. “Fit & healthy & so is bub.”
According to NSW Health, you can fly up to 36 weeks with an uncomplicated single pregnancy and up to 32 weeks if you’re having twins.
Other photos from the trip showed Tammy posing by the beach with her fiancé Matt Poole and two children, six-year-old Wolfe and four-year-old Saskia, who she shares with ex-fiancé Reece Hawkins.
One snap featured Tammy and Matt cuddled up on a hammock above the water with the sunset behind them.
‘I’m growing another little life’
Tammy announced back in December that she and Matt were expecting their first child together.
The star, who currently has over 14.5 million followers on Instagram, shared a snap wearing a black long-sleeved dress which was cut out at the midriff with her fiancé and two children cradling her baby bump.
“I appreciate all the love more than you know. I still can’t believe I’m going to be a mama of 3! My heart just might explode. I’m growing another little life,” she captioned the post.
