Serial rapist back behind bars after alleged relationship with prostitute

A convicted serial rapist is back behind bars after allegedly breaching his strict bail conditions.

Graham James Kay, 66, was arrested at 8pm on Saturday after police discovered he had entered into a relationship with a prostitute, who he had allegedly allowed to stay the night at his Parramatta home in Sydney's west.

On April 7, Corrective Services visited Kay at his home to check his curfew, however he appeared reluctant to let them in.

Once inside the unit they discovered an unknown woman in the bedroom, later identified as a prostitute.

Just her presence at his home was not a breach of his bail, meaning officers left the address. On April 8, police were notified of the relationship, prompting an investigation.

Police allege he failed to inform his supervising officer the pair were in an intimate relationship and allegedly lied when questioned about her staying over.

Between 1995 to 1996, Kay sexually assaulted eight women, holding knives to their throats in "premeditated and planned" attacks.

His victims were aged from 16 to 39.

Kay's reign of terror was stopped in 1997 after police caught him following women in Macquarie Park, Glebe and Epping.

He was released on parole in 2015 after serving 18 years behind bars on the condition that he was supervised, including electronic monitoring.
