'Sure fatality': Driver's unbelievable excuse after being caught speeding
A driver who was pulled over by police after exceeding the speed limit by more than 60km/h has offered a somewhat unbelievable excuse.
Police officers in Fall Branch, in the US state of Tennessee, pulled the man over last week.
“Trooper just stopped this driver at 107mph (172km/h) in a 65mph (104km/h) zone on I-26 in Sullivan County,” police tweeted.
“The driver stated he was on his way for crickets to feed his geckos.
“This is the type of violation we want to proactively intercept before a sure fatality.”
One man called it a “crazy” speed to be travelling at to collect crickets.
“Crickets and tickets,” another man tweeted.
“Honestly what was this person thinking?”
