Australian Girls Choir

Australian Girls Choir

Founded in 1984 by Judith Curphey OAM, the Australian Girls Choir (AGC) has developed a reputation for inspirational performances to audiences in Australia and around the world.

A true recognition of the choir's outstanding reputation was its selection by Qantas to represent the 'Spirit of Australia' in the hugely successful 'I Still Call Australia Home' advertising campaigns, which have captured the hearts of the nation.

Highlights in 2010 include the release of the choir's Chasing Rainbows CD, an inspiring and uplifting album of contemporary songs. The girls have also been invited to perform with Irish singing phenomenon, Celtic Woman, in their first Australian tour. Senior choristers are about to embark on the AGC's 13th international tour, performing in England, France, Switzerland and Singapore.

While senior choristers dazzle the world with their exciting performances, the journey begins in the junior training levels where any girl with a love of the performing arts can take part in the AGC's fun and dynamic classes. The founding philosophy behind this inspiring institution is that any child can sing with the correct encouragement and training. Classes are run in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and registrations for 2011 are now open.
