Stranded businessman uses trolley as boat in flooded Dubai carpark
A Dubai businessman reluctant to get his feet wet found another means of travel when he found himself trapped in floodwaters.
The unidentified man was filmed crouching in a shopping trolley along with his briefcase trying to manoeuvre through a car park, which was flooded with knee-deep water.
Using his body weight to inch his makeshift ‘boat’ forward, he grows increasingly frustrated with his slower-than-snail's pace.
He then finds a metal pole and tries to push himself through the water but again, his attempts are hilariously unsuccessful.
Before long, two men wearing uniforms appear and wade through the water to assist the stranded man.
The workers start to push him towards his vehicle and the person behind the camera can be heard giggling as the formally-dressed man admits defeat and takes a seat inside the cart.
Heavy storms in Dubai have caused mayhem recently, with flights being delayed and schools being closed.
Some locals said the rainfall in their suburbs was 'uncontrollable', The National reported.
“We’ve been here for two years and it is the first year that it happened, and I think this is the most rain I’ve seen in Dubai," resident Soumayya Libdi told the UAE newspaper.
