Three arrests over two unrelated killings north and south of Adelaide

Two men have been arrested over the death of a man near Victor Harbor, south of Adelaide, overnight, while another man has been arrested over a similar crime in South Australia’s Riverland.

Officers were called to a house on Mentone Road, Hayborough, at about 9pm on Wednesday night and discovered the body of a man on the property.

Two men, believed to be known to the victim, were arrested in the Victor Harbor area a short time later.

About half an hour earlier before the grim discovery at Hayborough, police several hundred kilometres north were called to a similar scene at Barmera.

Police were called to Nookamka Terrace in the Murray riverside town of Barmera after reports of two men fighting in the street.


Upon arrival, officers discovered one man suffering stab wounds.

Paramedics' efforts to revive the man failed and he died a short time later.

Police said they believed the 36-year-old Barmera man arrested in relation to the killing was known to the victim.

He was refused bail and is due to face the Berri Magistrate’s court later today.
