Snowpiercer Season 4 Lands at AMC, 14 Months After TNT Cancellation — When Will the Final Episodes Air?
The fourth and final season of Snowpiercer is making tracks for… AMC.
The news comes 14 months after TNT decided that it would not air the dystopian drama’s farewell run after all, leaving producer Tomorrow Studios to find the episodes a new home.

Thursday’s announcement confirms that AMC has acquired exclusive U.S. linear and streaming rights to all four seasons. The first three seasons will bow on AMC+ later this year, while Season 4 will follow on AMC and AMC+ in early 2025 (precise release date TBD).
“Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+,” said Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios. “We look forward to giving viewers an opportunity to binge the first three seasons later this year, in anticipation of the arrival of a remarkable fourth season helmed by [new showrunner] Paul Zbyszewski and this stellar cast, which will premiere in 2025.”
Added Zbyszewski: “We’re so thrilled the train has finally found a home, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at AMC and Tomorrow Studios for giving the fans of Snowpiercer a chance to enjoy Season 4 with all the hard work this amazing cast and crew put into it.”
TNT greenlit Snowpiercer Season 4 in July 2021, six months before Season 3 made it to air. Five months later, the cable network announced that Season 4 would conclude the sci-fi series’ “successful, multi-season run.” Seasons 1-3 were subsequently scrubbed from Max.
New for Season 4 are Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. favorite Clark Gregg and The Americans‘ Michael Aronov in undisclosed roles. Additionally, Zbyszewski (Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Helstrom) took over as showrunner, succeeding EPs Graeme Manson and Aubrey Nealon.
At the time that TNT derailed Snowpiercer, the network said in statement, “This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer’s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong. We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects.”
Tomorrow Studios founder and CEO Marty Adelstein and president/partner Becky Clements in turn said in a joint statement, “We love Snowpiercer and believe Season 4 completes a story with incredible talent that will entertain viewers while exploring issues of climate change and class warfare. We are so passionate about this series that we have acquired the rights to control the franchise. We hope to find the perfect partner shortly and finish a great ride with the final season” — and now they have.
