Sneaky way to get free delivery from Coles
Supermarket giant Coles has quietly revealed a way to get free delivery from its online store.
The website is currently showing a small box that offers delivery at no charge for customers. But the catch is that the order must be $150 or more.
The fine print reads that the offer ends 11:59pm on October 31.
Coles online usually charges between $4 and $20 for delivery, depending on the time window the customer chooses to receive the goods. The only exception is the very first order from a new customer, which is delivered for free.
The offer is similar to rival Woolworths' current campaign of taking $15 off online orders worth $160 or more. A code has to be entered at checkout for that discount to take effect, which lasts until October 29.
Coles online also ran a free delivery deal last month but with a lower minimum spend of $100.
A spokesperson for the supermarket told Yahoo Finance that this was a separate promotion.
"We saw fantastic uptake and customer feedback last month so we’ve introduced another Free Delivery offer for October," the spokesperson said.
"Anytime, anywhere shopping is becoming increasingly important for customers and Coles Online saw growth of 30% in the past financial year."
Both Coles and Woolworths are also running their weekly half-price specials, which can also contribute to a lower grocery bill.
