Sixth victim of Bondi Junction rampage identified as Chinese student

Yixuan Cheng was killed by Joel Cauchi, 40, during the horrific attack at the busy shopping centre on Saturday.

The sixth victim of the horrific stabbing attack at the Westfield Bondi Junction has been identified as a Chinese national studying in Australia.

Yixuan Cheng reportedly had no family in the country and police spent Sunday desperately trying to get a hold of her loved ones overseas.

Hers is the latest name to be added to the list of people brutally killed by Joel Cauchi in the busy shopping centre rampage on Saturday afternoon.

The 40-year-old Queensland man, previously known to police, killed five women and one man, and put an additional 12 people, including a baby, in hospital.

Victims of Bondi Junction massacre named

The previously identified victims are Dawn Singleton, 25, Ashlee Good, 38, Jade Young, 47, Pikria Darchia, 55 and security guard Faraz Ahmed Tahir, aged 30.

Dawn Singleton was engaged to marry a NSW police officer later this year, The Daily Telegraph reports. The 25-year-old daughter of millionaire businessman John Singleton was shopping for makeup for her wedding when killer Cauchi began attacking shoppers with a large knife.

Security guard and former refugee Faraz Ahmed Tahir is the lone male victim to have been killed. He was at work when he was attacked and succumbed to his injuries.

Ashlee Good and her nine-month-old daughter Harriet were both stabbed during the attack. Ms Good died of her injuries, but not before she handed her baby to two men to try and save the infant. The nine-month-old is recovering after surgery, the family said on Sunday.

Architect Jade Young, 47, a mother-of-two and beloved member of the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club, and Pikria Darchia, 55 were also murdered in the rampage.
