A new mum who died after being stabbed during the Bondi Junction attack had shared a photo of her and her daughter just hours beforehand.

Ash Good, 38, died in hospital on Saturday night, hours after she and her nine-month-old girl were stabbed by a 40-year-old man.

Witnesses have recounted how she threw her injured baby girl, Harriet, into the arms of two strangers and begged them for help after being attacked by the lone assailant after 3.20pm.

Two men, speaking to 9News, said she had handed her baby over to them as she fought for their life.

“She handed us the baby and said ‘please help, help’,” one of the men said.

The pair said they used clothes to compress the bleeding while they awaited paramedics.

Ms Good was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition, but she succumbed to her injuries not long after.

Harriet, meanwhile, underwent surgery and remains in a serious condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Just hours before the attack, she posted a photo of her and her daughter on social media, capturing the post “9 months out vs. 9 months in etc etc”.

She had also shared a short clip of Harriet to her Instagram story, accompanied by the song “My Girl”.

Sky News anchor Laura Jayes, who was a friend of Ms Good’s, described her as a “beautiful, beautiful girl, inside and out”.

“She was so smart, and an athlete, and so clever,” Jayes said.

“She saved her baby tonight.”

Reporting on her friend’s death live on air earlier in the evening, Jayes was emotional as she broke “the worst possible news”.

“I didn’t know the others but I knew one,” she said.

“She had the world at her feet.

“Her baby went into surgery and her mum didn’t make it.

“She was so smart, so beautiful and it was all ripped away in seconds.”Another friend took to Facebook to remember her as a “beautiful soul has been taken from us.

“My prays go out to your child and family. You will be greatly missed,” he wrote, with a broken heart emoji.
