Horrified shopper films cockroaches crawling on McDonald’s ingredients
A stunned shopper has filmed numerous cockroaches crawling among the ingredients at a McDonald’s ice cream kiosk in a Brazilian shopping centre.
The incident was filmed at the McDonald’s ice cream kiosk in the Teresina Shopping Centre in the city of Teresina.
In the footage, several cockroaches are seen crawling among the drawers of ingredients in the kiosk while no staff members are apparently working.
In a statement, McDonald’s said they are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation.
They did not add any comment on how it could have happened and whether there were any consequences for the store concerned.
McDonald’s only added that they have already adopted all the necessary health procedures and are strictly following protocols related to cleaning and food preparation.
Meanwhile, local media reached out to bosses at the Teresina Shopping Centre for comment, however, they have also yet to release a statement on the matter.
The local health authority has reportedly sent an inspection team to the shopping centre to investigate the complaint and take necessary measures.
The person who filmed the scene has not been identified and it is unclear what day it took place.
After the video was widely shared on social media, several shoppers commented that the kiosk was closed on August 22.
The investigation is ongoing.
