'You may be saving lives but...': Shocking note left on ambulance windscreen

A paramedic was shocked to discover a hand written note on their ambulance wind screen, warning them not to park over their driveway.

The message read "You may be saving lives, but don't park your van in a stupid place and block my drive".

The note was left on the windscreen of an ambulance in Birmingham, England, much to the shock of the paramedic who was busy helping a man who was vomiting blood.

"One of our crews encountered this delightful note after assisting a patient suffering a major internal bleed," Sam Grimson, who is a paramedic, wrote on Twitter.

"The crew were not on scene long due to how poorly the patient was.

"We always try to park appropriately but sometimes it it not possible."

Me Grimson shared a photo of the note and a photo of blood on the floor of the ambulance.

The vehicle was at the seen for less than 30 minutes, with crew helping a man who was in a critical condition and was vomiting blood, Mirror Online reports.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust told the publication "sometimes we just don't know what to say".

"At the time, the crew were helping a man who was extremely unwell after vomiting a lot of blood," the spokesman said.

"They assessed his condition and immediately took him on blue lights to hospital where he was in a critical condition.

"Our staff will always try and park considerately, but sometimes, there just isn't time. Sorry, patients come first."

The note has caused outrage on Twitter.

"Some people are so selfish and don’t think about the reason as to why a crew would have to do that," one person wrote.

"I hope they see the posting and learn to be more respectful of a service that could save their or family/friends lives in the future."

"Would be different if the ambulance was for them! Let's hope they're never in the need of one in an emergency. Selfish. Lack of respect. Priorities. Keep up the work," another person said.
