Shocking moment woman shoots herself in hospital after boyfriend dies

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: A woman has been captured on CCTV shooting herself in the chest while sitting in a hospital corridor after being told her boyfriend had died.

The shocking incident was filmed at a private hospital in the district of Bismil in the eastern Turkish province of Diyarbakir.

The CCTV shows a man talking to a woman, identified as 25-year-old Derman Bakir, who can be seen sitting in a hospital chair.

After speaking to her for a few seconds, the man leaves and the woman proceeds to take a gun out of her bag before cocking, pointing it at her chest and firing.

She then slumps back in the chair.

Bakir had just been told that her partner, Medeni Aykal, 45, had died of a heart attack, according to the newspaper Gun Haber.

Derman was soon found by hospital staff who tried to save her, but she died of the gunshot wound shortly afterwards.

The middle-aged man’s body was reportedly taken by his relatives and buried while Bakir’s body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy, according to reports.
