The drama unfolded just after midday when the shop was its busiest with witnesses left gob smacked at just how fast she ploughed through the front of the store.

The senior driver was left unscathed by the accident and was escorted from the chemist by paramedics.

“It was just as if she put her foot on the accelerator and just drove straight back... no stopping, just flat to the floor,” witness Sharon Tedore said.

Two women were injured including a 62-year-old North Haven resident who was shopping with her husband when she copped the full force of the accident and dragged several metres.

“Due to her age we are holding grave concerns for her,” a police officer said.

Witnesses said the car squeezed between two other parked cars and through a walkway before smashing into the shop.

Police said they are still piecing together exactly what happened.
