Contact over company's MH370 research

The Malaysian Government's examining an Adelaide-based company's research on the whereabouts of flight MH370.

The director of exploration company Georesonance received a call today from Malaysia's search and rescue team.

The company was asked to give an online presentation on its findings late this afternoon and was told the information would be taken to higher authorities.

The company has also been contacted by the Malaysian high commission in Canberra, after 7News Adelaide revealed details about the research last night.

After analysing satellite images over the past six weeks, scientists believe they have found the wreckage of a commercial airliner in the Bay of Bengal - thousands of kilometres away from the search zone off Western Australia.

The company says it has identified elements on the ocean floor, consistent with material from a plane; anomalies which are not in images taken before flight 370's disappearance.

It believes the reported handshakes and pings in the Indian Ocean are inaccurate and that this could be the best lead.

The developments have attracted international media attention but, frustratingly for the company, there has been no such urgency from authorities here.

The office of search coordinator, Angus Houston, says the report has been sent to the appropriate contacts for review.
