Almost 200 birds seized in Queensland cockfighting raids

Queensland animal welfare officials have seized close to 200 birds during raids on almost a dozen properties allegedly linked to illegal cockfighting in the state.

RSPCA Qld inspectors on Wednesday seized 186 birds and cockfighting paraphernalia as part their ongoing investigation into illegal fights and the import and export of birds.

"We'd urge anyone who has any information to come forward," chief inspector Daniel Young said.
