Brisbane clubbers outraged by anti-Labor text

One of the biggest nightclub chains in Brisbane has been accused of sending anti-Labor text messages to its database of customers the night before the Queensland election.

The Katrzyna Group, which owns some of the capital’s most popular venues, including Family, press Club and Cloudland, sent text messages to patrons encouraging them not to vote for Labor.

The message comes amidst Labor’s plans to introduce a 1am pub and club lockout, following the lead of the NSW Government.

“Be careful with your vote on Saturday,” the text read. “Labor wants to shut pubs and clubs early.”


But instead of being swayed, Brisbane’s party goers reacted with anger and took to social media to demand an apology from the owners.
