Qld town no longer under fire threat

Properties in a southern Queensland town are no longer under threat from a bushfire.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) has cancelled its watch and act message for the bushfire at Ravensbourne, inland from Brisbane.

The large bushfire was continuing to burn near Mt Jockey Road, Ravensbourne on Wednesday evening, with multiple fire crews working to build containment lines.

However, the QFES said there was no threat to property at this time.

Fire crews will remain on scene during the night to monitor the situation and conduct firefighting operations.

Residents near Perseverance Road, Ravensbourne Dip Road, Garvey Road and Post Office Road, Ravensbourne, are urged to remain vigilant and call Triple Zero if they believe their property comes under threat.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Ravensbourne community was warned there was a chance that some property may be lost as the large bushfire was moving fast.
