A teenager has been charged after allegedly smashing the window of a police station during a drunken rant over a missed train.

The 18-year-old man was still at Bayswater Police Station when officers, alerted by an alarm, arrived there at about 1.50am this morning.

The man is alleged to have smashed the window of the building after missing his train at the nearby Bayswater Train Station.

Bayswater officer in charge Dave Whitnell said it is alleged that, shortly before the incident, the same man made abusive phone calls to the Public Transport Authority over missing his train.

The man was charged with criminal damage and was refused bail.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court today.
