Tributes have begun to flow for Ms Thompson whose emotional friends spoke near the crime scene.

“I just feel so emotional about it. It’s just sad that a woman who was also a woman can go out like this to domestic violence. It just needs to stop,” friend Naomi Tyrrell said.
