Police appeal after man injured outside bookshop

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured during an alleged assault outside a Hastings bookshop.

The injured man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Sussex Police said it is investigating a report of an altercation outside the Hare and Hawthorn Bookshop, George Street, at about 18:30 BST on Saturday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV of the area or any information which may help the investigation, are asked to contact the police.
