Nurse stood down after filming disturbing Covid video on TikTok
A nurse has sparked widespread backlash over a TikTok video about coronavirus, which left her hospital with no choice but to stand her down.
The nurse said in captions across the now-deleted video about continuing to travel, not wearing a mask and letting her kids go out on play dates.
She has since been identified as a nurse working at Salem Hospital in the US state of Oregon.
Salem Health said the video “displayed cavalier disregard for the seriousness of this pandemic and her indifference towards physical distancing and masking outside of work”.
“This individual does not speak for Salem Health and has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation,” the organisation said in a statement.

She was identified by BuzzFeed as Ashley Grames.
The nurse’s disregard for social distancing prompted widespread outcry on TikTok too after the deleted video was reposted by other users.
“Don’t go into the medical field if you don’t care about other people,” one man said in response to the video.
One woman called her “unprofessional and unethical”.
Another woman claiming to be a neurology nurse said the video made her “furious”.
The US has recorded more than 13.4 million cases of coronavirus and more than 260,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
