Vincent Stanford charged with sexually assaulting Stephanie Scott before her death
The man accused of killing NSW school teacher Stephanie Scott has also been charged with sexually assaulting her.
School cleaner Vincent Stanford has been charged with sexually assaulting the bride-to-be, before he allegedly killed her at Leeton in April.
Police charged the 24-year-old on Wednesday with one count of aggravated sexual assault and inflicting actual bodily harm on Ms Scott who was just days away from getting married to the love of her life.
Mr Stanford is accused of sexually assaulting the popular teacher and causing her actual bodily harm between 1.40pm and 2pm on April 5.
He is expected to face Griffith Local Court via video link today.
Ms Scott disappeared on April 5, about a week before she was due to marry her fiance Aaron Leeson-Woolley.
Three days later Mr Stanford was arrested and later charged with murdering the 26-year-old-teacher.
Ms Scott's body was found in bushland five days after she was last seen at Leeton High School, where she was getting work in order ahead of her honeymoon.
Mr Stanford was arrested at his Leeton home after police found blood and a camera with photographs of a burned body on it, allegedly in his car.
Police found the burned body of the popular school teacher dumped at Cocoparra National Park, north of Griffith, just a day before she was due to be married.
Ms Scott's death prompted an outpouring of grief in the Riverina region, stretching from her workplace, Leeton High School, to her home town of Canowindra, where she met Mr Leeson-Woolley.
