A body found in a car in NSW's Bega Valley is believed to be that of missing Canberra woman Daniella D'Addario.

Police say a man fled on food after his car was stopped and officers found the body of a woman believed to be in her 30s.

The man fled into bushland when he was stopped at Cuttagee Point in Bermagui, in the Bega Valley, on Wednesday night.

Police are now hunting a man, believed to be her 27-year-old partner Josaia Vosikahta.

A perimeter has been set up as police search for the man, who is described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, in his late 20s, with an athletic build.

Police have advised anyone who sees the man not to approach him, but to contact police immediately.

Initial investigations suggest the man and woman knew each other.

ACT Policing Wednesday issued a release stating there were concerns for the welfare of D’Addario and Josaia Vosikata, who have both been missing since Monday.

They were reported missing to police by Daniella's family after they failed to make contact with her over the weekend.

Police believe that the couple may be travelling in a silver/light blue Hyundai Getz, bearing ACT registration YEF19M and are staying on the NSW South Coast around the Bermagui area.

Anyone who can provide any information about Daniella and Josaia is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.
