Shocking video shows One Nation candidate's truck engulfed in flames
A One Nation candidate’s truck has been torched just a day after the federal election.
Tasmanian candidate Adam Lambert was buying groceries inside the Shoreline shopping centre in Howrah on Sunday when he discovered the billboard truck had been set alight.
In a video uploaded to Twitter by One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, flames are seen engulfing the truck in the car park.
Ms Hanson claims a person had been seen torching the truck before fleeing.
“It is amazing how the left call for tolerance but act like they’re above the law when you don’t agree with their ideologies,” she wrote.
Mr Lambert posted a video to Facebook as emergency services attended the scene.
“If you don’t like us don’t vote for us,” he said.
“But for those magnificent supporters who do vote for us, it’s a bit more encouragement on why we have to work a bit harder for you guys.”
While Mr Lambert did not win a Senate seat in Tasmania in Saturday’s election, he said he would do better next time around.
“What a mess,” he said in the video.
“When you look at this you can see why we’re all out here battling for you guys.”
Police are investigating the incident and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Anybody with information should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
