New twist after Chris Daughtry's daughter, 25, found dead at home

Chris Daughtry's stepdaughter Hannah Price who was found dead in her home in Nashville, in the US state of Tennessee, was allegedly murdered.

Sources close with the Daughtry family told TMZ detectives informed the family the 25-year-old's death was ruled as a homicide.

Ms Price's boyfriend Bobby Jolly was arrested on the same day her body was found, TMZ reported.

But it has not been confirmed if he is a suspect or if the arrest is connected to Ms Price's death.

A Fentress County sheriff’s deputy told The New York Post Jolly was being held in jail and would be transferred to Putnam County jail, but would not elaborate further about charges.

Chris and his wife and Ms Price's mother, Deanna, shared tributes on their Instagrams, along with confirmation his band, Daughtry, would be postponing or cancelling upcoming shows.

Before the news broke about Ms Price's alleged homicide, Deanna said on Instagram the family were awaiting autopsy results to "determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death".

Tennessee District Attorney General Jared Effler is conducting an investigation into Ms Price's death, according to the Daily Mail.

Chris, who is the frontman for the rock band Daughtry, said he was still processing the news of Ms Price's death.

In an Instagram post dedicated to Ms Price, he revealed he only recently lost his mother to cancer and was "blessed" he had a chance to say goodbye.

However, he did not get that chance with Ms Price.

"We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family," Chris said.

"Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply."

The band also confirmed on Instagram the shows for the coming week would be cancelled or postponed, and thanked fans for their understanding.

"Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry's daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows this weekend... have been postponed," the band said.

"The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding."

Chris formed the band after competing on American Idol.
