Naomi Campbell has finally confirmed that she had her two children via a surrogate.

The 54-year-old, who is mother to a three-year-old daughter and son 12 months, has clarified that she did not carry the pregnancy herself.

When Campbell, who previously admitted her daughter wasn't adopted, was asked by The Times if she used a surrogate, she replied: “I did. I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 per cent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school.”

She added that she was happy being "a single mother from a single mum" and that “My babies are everything to me. It’s made me fear for the future.”

Campbell said she is concerned that the new generation are not interested in having children.

“I have heard a lot of young girls saying that it is too expensive to have children and they may not want them, and I have said, ‘You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum.’

“I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work. It’s worth it. It is so amazing.

“We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world. I trust my children more than us to do the right thing.”

The star shocked the world in May 2021 when she announced that she had become a mother to a baby girl shortly before her 51st birthday, in a post on Instagram featuring a picture of her hand holding a baby’s feet.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, so honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love,” she said.

In 2022, she posed with her daughter for the cover of British Vogue’s March issue and confirmed her daughter had not been adopted, saying: “She’s my child.”

Last year, she announced that she had welcomed a second child, her son, on Instagram as she shared a picture of her cradling the baby while it is assumed her young daughter was holding the baby’s hand.

She captioned the post: “My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A True Gift from God, blessed! Welcome Babyboy. #mumoftwo.”
