Mystery man's 'creepy' text messages go viral after stealing phone number of school girl

A man’s desperate attempt to woo a girl who worked at his local coffee shop has gone viral, after he revealed he snuck behind the counter to steal her number off the staff roster.

In a series of cringe-worthy text messages, the mystery man begins by explaining how hard it was to track down his love interest’s contact details.

“Soooooo….. Would it be weird if someone had your number, but you didn’t technically give it to them?? It was rather hard trying to find it, btw.”

More than an hour ticks past, so he follows it up with another message.

“He said, heart in chest, hoping he’s not making a HUGE ass of himself…..”

The girl, obviously unsure what to make of the gesture, replies: “ummm possibly this is all very mysterious”.

The man then offers the teen several clues to reveal his identity, including his impromptu singing performances in an alleyway behind the coffee shop to get her attention.

“Honestly no idea.”

He tells her how he only wears a uniform when she’s working.

“I’m lost.”

Finally, he tells her about a previous conversation they had where he promised to “thwart all of the eight legged beasts that threatens your well-being” – and she clicks.

After explaining how he came to obtain her phone number, she replied: “well I’m choosing to be very flattered rather than creeped out!”

As the conversation continues, the girl stresses the fact that she is only 18 and still in high school, which doesn’t seem to deter the older man, who reveals he is 10 years her senior.

“Haha yeah a little old for me, I’m very flattered though,” she said.

Two days after the initial conversation, the man proves he won’t go down without a fight and send her another awkward message.

“So, young lady, after a great deal of thought I’ve graciously decided to forgive you for calling me “a little old.” Rude! Now… You just have to make it up to me. Your ball!”

This time, the teen wasn’t quite so friendly.

“I’m really not interested,” she said.

Ouch.

Thankfully, the love-struck suitor got the hint and apologised for the ‘unwanted attention’.
