The mystery girl who sparked a nation-wide search this week has been found.
The child was located in Australia and is safe and well, a Victorian Police spokesperson said, after a nation-wide public hunt was called earlier this week.
"A warrant has been executed, but no arrests have yet been made," police said in a statement.
As the matter is currently under investigation, police cannot release further information at this stage.
On Tuesday, Victoria Police released two blurred images of a young girl believed to be aged between four and six at the time the images were taken, in an appeal for public help in finding her.
At the time, Leading Senior Constable Julie-Anne Newman said investigators feared for the girl's safety after she was pictured inside what could be an Australian apartment in May last year.
Police have thanked the public for their assistance in tracking the youngster down.
