Mum of missing girl, 15, reveals chilling fears over how her daughter vanished
The mother of a missing teenage girl fears her daughter vanished while going to meet someone she was chatting to online.
Lily Christopherson, 15, hasn’t been seen since leaving her parents’ home on May 9.
Police believe she took a bus from Bonney Lake, Washington, US, to meet convicted 39-year-old sex offender Christopher Fitzpatrick, who was arrested on Saturday after a number of warrants were issued.
Lily’s distraught mother Lena Winters, broke down in tears while warning other parents and teens to become more cautious about chatting and meeting with people online.
“I think this will be a wake-up call, hopefully for a lot of girls right now that are going to see this on the news, that things are dangerous. That’s why we tell you not to do them,” she said.
The worried mother said she previously had a number of conversations with Lily about online safety and mobile phone apps, and had tried to keep an eye on her internet usage.
She would often check Lily’s phone and would see social media apps like Facebook and Instagram, but wasn’t aware her daughter was logging into other apps through the web browser.
“Be very active and watch. Talk with your daughters,” Ms Winters advised other parents.

“Even when I would have her phone, her friends would just give her an old device. So, no matter how much I tried to monitor her, every kid out there has an old device and they’re willing to hand it over.
Despite police arresting Fitzpatrick, Lily’s whereabouts is still unknown.
“I’m so worried where she could be now,” Ms Winters told KING 5.
