Mum cops backlash after posting seemingly innocent backyard photo

A Queensland mum has copped backlash online over the way she chose to fill her backyard swimming pool.

Kirsty McKenzie, who blogs for The Mummyinsomniac, a shared picture of her pool with a hose leading into it on Instagram over the weekend.

However, many users began commenting claiming she should have called in a truck to do it as using a hose would take hours to fill a swimming pool.

“Can’t believe you’re doing it that way,” one user wrote according to Kidspot.

“Obviously didn’t research this one at all.”

For between $79 and $83, Queensland business Unity Water can give customers about 20,000 litres and for $120-$126, 30,000 litres can be bought.

The mum said in an Instagram video following the feedback it had been “an interesting 24 hours”.

“And yes, even after our research we decided to use the garden hose,” she said.

She added money was a factor as opposed to leaving “a hose on for a few hours”.

The mum also thanked her supportive followers who sent videos of themselves filling up their own swimming pools with hoses.
