Mother's horror after daughter's feet taped into shoes at childcare centre
Two childcare workers in the US have been fired and a mum has been left horrified after she found her little girl’s feet taped into her shoes.
Jessica Hayes, a single mum from North Carolina, shared pictures of her toddler’s feet on Facebook.
She wrote: “Does anyone see an issue with this? And am I the only one?”
The mum later wrote she’d been leaving her 17-month-old with the Pleasant Hill Day Care since she was six weeks old.
“I am upset that this happened to my child as someone was clearly upset that she was learning to take her shoes off and did it out of being aggravated,” she wrote.
“This was also not just her shoes being taped up. It was around her ankle.”

Ms Hayes told news station NBC WX11 when she tried taking the tape off her daughter began crying.
She said she rang the director of the child care centre straight away and they “dismissed the two employees involved”.
Maeshell Marley, the childcare’s director, said she found the incident disturbing and that Pleasant Hill Day Care “in no way condones of allows any practice that would be harmful to a child”.
Ms Hayes said she was satisfied with the action taken and will continue to send her daughter to the childcare centre.
