Moment grandmother discovers she is a millionaire during online job hunt

A Melbourne grandmother’s online job hunt has proven extremely fruitful after discovering she’d scooped more than $1.7million in the lottery.

The ecstatic Clyde resident was sifting through listings on Wednesday when she remembered to check her TattsLotto Megadraw ticket she’d purchased earlier in the week.

“I was actually just looking at jobs online and I thought I’d better check this TattsLotto ticket that I got last Saturday so I went onto the Lott website,” the grandmother, who wishes to remain anonymous, explained.

She held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in the $30 million draw on Saturday, taking home an impressive $1,764,705.89.

“You’ve got no idea how excited I am, I don’t believe this is real!” she said.

“I’m so beside myself, I’ve had so much bad luck in the past, I still can’t believe it.”

Confirming her unexpected win with a TattsLotto official this morning, the woman broke down with tears of joy.

“You’ve made me the happiest woman on earth,” she cried.

As the life-changing news sunk in, she realised 2019 would be a year like no other and her working days were officially over.

“I was really stressing out because I was supposed to go back to work next week and now I don’t have to ever go back to work again!” she exclaimed.

“I’ll pay off my house, pay some bills and help my kids out.

“And I’m going to travel.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Stud Park Lotto, which was also responsible for a mammoth $16.7million Powerball win in 2016.

“We’re so excited that we’ve sold another big winning entry, we’ve been waiting for this day,” store owner Kun Lao said.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3907 on Saturday December 29 were 9, 33, 39, 30, 2 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 41.

Across Australia, there were 17 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3907, including eight in Victoria, two in Queensland, two in New South Wales and the ACT, four in Western Australia and one online.

With 2018 coming to a close, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 193 millionaires across Australia in the last 12 months.
