MKR 'villains' frock up for Ascot
My Kitchen Rules *WA * duo *Chloe James *and *Kelly Ramsay *are trading their signature aprons for something more stylish as they frock up for one of the *Perth * autumn racing carnival's most prestigious events.
The cooking personalities will don fascinators, gloves and dresses for the Karrakatta Plate Race Day at *Ascot * tomorrow, where they will mingle with VIP guests in the Myer Marquee and try to shrug off the "villain" tag they have gained on the Seven show at a Q&A session.
The well-travelled pair have ventured to more than 42 countries between them, so it should come as no surprise that Ramsay has attended what is considered by many to be the world's ultimate racing showcase.
"I have been to the Royal Ascot a couple of times - I've seen the Queen," the 27-year-old told _AAA _.
"Royal Ascot is the event, it's amazing, but WA still gives it a run for its money."
While Ramsay is a race-day regular, for James it's all about the fashion. The mother of one, 28, said she enjoyed escaping from the kitchen and getting dressed up to the nines.
"I love beautiful clothes, shoes and jewellery," James said. "I think every woman loves fashion so to be able to dress up on an occasion like this is pretty special."
The reality stars' tongue-in-cheek humour, which has landed them in hot water during their run on My Kitchen Rules, was on show when asked about their tips on how to behave at the races.
"I am probably not the best person for that one," Ramsay laughed, before her bestie quickly cut in.
"Kelly struggles to stay classy sometimes," James joked, before adding her top advice was to go easy on the bubbly.
The women are also keen to watch other *WA *fillies strut their stuff as part of the famed Myer Fashions on the Field, which
will be judged by a panel headed up by celebrated Perth designer *Aurelio Costarella *.
Hosted by Seven weather presenter *Angela Tsun *, the contest will see the style-savvy winners take home a share in a prize package worth more than $5000.
