McDonald's customer throws hot coffee in worker's face
WARNING, DISTRESSING FOOTAGE: Confronting footage has surfaced of a man splashing hot coffee into the face of a McDonald’s worker, reportedly during a dispute over the price of the $1 coffee.
Police said the customer ordered a cup of coffee at the take away store about 5.45am last Friday, then began to argue with the store manager.
He received his coffee and poured it into a take-away mug, then demanded a refill, becoming enraged with the employee because she didn’t give him a discount, according KIRO7 TV news.
Police said the manager asked the man to leave the store in the US town of Lacey, Washington, before he attacked her.
“An unidentified male became upset at the McDonald’s store manager… and threw his hot coffee upon her in a fit of rage after being asked to leave,” Lacey Police Depaartment said in a statement.
“The male may be transient and have mental health issues.”
Footage shows the pair in an argument, before the man can be seen throwing the contents of his mug into the face of the employee, before he ran from the store.
The staffer suffered severe burns to her face and neck, according to police.
Police are yet to identify the man in the video.
