Masked gunmen kill four at California house party, police say

Police in King City, Calif., are searching for three men they say opened fire at a California house party, killing four and wounding at least three others.

The King City Police Department said officers responded to reports of shots fired around 6 p.m. Sunday and discovered three men with gunshot wounds in front of a residence. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman with gunshot wounds was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead, police said in a statement.

Three others with gunshot wounds were taken to a local hospital, authorities added.

Authorities said their investigation determined that a party was taking place at the home when a silver Kia pulled up and three men got out. The men fired multiple rounds at the partygoers in the front yard before fleeing, police said.

The suspects were wearing dark-colored clothing and dark-colored masks over their heads and have not been identified or located, police said late Sunday night.

King City is in California’s southern Salinas Valley along the state’s central coast.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and residents were advised to call 911 and not contact them directly should they see them or the vehicle, police noted. Those with additional information were asked to contact King City Police Department Sergeant Josh Partida at 831-386-5988 or jpartida@kingcity.com, or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.

Police did not release the victims’ names or any other information about the suspects.
