'It's insane': Man’s shocking reaction to $5 million lotto win

A man who discovered he won $5 million after checking his ticket while on a coffee run dropped to the ground screaming when he discovered the news.

The lucky winner from Cranbourne, in Melbourne's southeast, was one of three division one holders in Tuesday's Oz Lotto draw 1420.

The winning numbers were 38, 2, 34, 8, 20, 18 and 15 while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 37.

He told The Lott he was in "complete shock" after finding out he was Australia's newest millionaire.

"I just walked into the newsagency to check my ticket as I was out getting a coffee," he said.

"The lady at the counter was looking at me funny and so I asked if something was wrong.

"She had this huge smile on her face and said: 'You've won division one! You're a multi-millionaire.'

"I dropped to the ground and started screaming. I couldn't stop shaking. It's insane."

Man reveals how he'll spend winnings

Cranbourne Authorised Newsagency manager Trissa Yang told The Lott her team was happy for the man.

"It was so nice to not only sell the winner the ticket, but also be able to break that news to him," she said.

"When he found out, he dropped to the ground and started cheering and crying. It was an incredible moment."

Ms Yang added they had not sold a division one entry in a while and was excited to finally announce a winner.

"We've been sharing the news with all of our customers and they're stoked for us," she said.

The lucky man has already decided to give all of his winnings to his family.

"All I can think about is my kids right now. I just want to look after them and set them up for the future," he said.

"My family is my number one priority. They're my only priority. I can't even think about what I would do for myself with the prize.

"I am sure I will do something to celebrate. Right now, all I want to do is sit and think about it all."
