Man's search for mysterious Aussie he 'fell in love' with on holiday

A man who claims he “fell in love” with an Australian woman after a brief encounter in Bali has turned to the internet in his audacious bid to track her down.

Arseniy Frolov, from Russia, was visiting Aling-Aling Waterfall on Saturday during a prolonged stay on the island when he met the mystery woman.

But after heavy rain meant their time together was cut short, Mr Frolov has taken to Facebook for help identifying his potential love interest.

“If you see [this post], let me know. I fell in love,” he wrote in a post shared to several tourist pages in hope she would see it.

He told Yahoo7 News he is calling on any Australians who know of a young female in the area to notify them of his post.

“If your friend was there yesterday, tell her that I am looking for her.”

Revealing he hadn’t managed to get her number due to not taking his phone to the waterfall, users were further shocked to discover he hadn’t even managed to get her name.

Many were quick to poke fun at his full on approach, with dozens joking her name was Julia – a woman who was the recipient of a viral clip from a man in 2017 who declared the day they crossed paths was the greatest of his life.

Others couldn’t help but compare his story to similar famous encounters.

“Did you have her glass shoes? Maybe it can help…” one user said, referencing Cinderella.

While a handful of users suggested his online plea might appear “creepy”, hundreds wished him luck in his search, suggesting his post was “cute” and “romantic”.

“Oh I love this kind of love story!” one user wrote.

“That is so sweet…. good luck!” another said.

Mr Frolov told Yahoo7 News the young woman has a slim build, is relatively short with brunette hair and wears distinctive glasses.

“She smiles so sweetly,” he said.

Nearly 24 hours since his original post, Mr Frolov has revealed he is yet to find the love of his life but still harbours hope he will eventually find her.

“I only know that she is from Australia, she came to Bali for not a long time and came alone to the waterfalls.”
