‘What’s wrong with this picture?’ Sydneysider's frustration over Australia Post delivery

A Sydneysider has vented their annoyance after Australia Post failed to place their delivery in its designated spot.

“Hey Australia Post, what’s wrong with this picture?” the person wrote on Reddit on Wednesday with an accompanying photo of the parcel sitting on the ground in front of a mailbox.

The large mailbox has a slot for letters and a larger opening titled ‘parcels’.

The resident said a doorbell camera caught the postie, who was not his usual person, dumping the package on the ground out of “sheer laziness”.

They said they initially bought the large mailbox “for peace of mind” and had never had any other problems before, but this “one was so dumb” they couldn’t resist posting it online.

The post quickly garnered more than a hundred replies, with many people saying they often find their parcels on the floor – if they’re delivered at all.

“Yeah something is definitely wrong here. They accidentally delivered your parcel instead of not even attempting to and leaving a card. Bizarre!” one person said with sarcasm.

“I can see the problem. The slot is labelled 'Parcels’, hence it did not meet the requirement, since only a parcel was delivered,” another said.

“I once found a parcel in the hedge behind the post boxes. It had been there for about a month and I only found it because we were trimming said hedges,” a third person said.

An Australia Post spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia “the secure delivery of parcels is extremely important to Australia Post and the vast majority are delivered without any issues.”

“For enquiries relating to deliveries, we encourage customers to contact us on 13 POST.”
